Change Doesn’t Happen Overnight

No one ever said sobriety was easy, but when you follow the right steps, your journey can be broken down into small, achievable steps.

STEP ONE

The foundation of your journey is “Establishing Your Why.” Write it down, keep it close, and when the going gets tough, go back to your “Why” to help you find the motivation to keep you on the right track.

STEP TWO

Getting started is the hardest part. The key to success is starting slow and tackling one thing at a time. Don’t worry about the big picture, instead, focus on what you can do today. Pick a date to start and hold yourself accountable.

STEP THREE

You’re going to have cravings, but it’s how you handle those cravings that will make all the difference. That’s why it’s so important to have a plan in place for when those cravings strike.

STEP FOUR

Routines provide structure, stability, and a sense of predictability, all of which can make your journey to sobriety much easier to adhere to. Think about your daily habits and identify opportunities for change.

STEP FIVE

Sobriety is like a muscle – the more you work at it, the stronger it gets. It won’t happen overnight, but with time and practice, it’ll become easier and easier. It’s important to remember that your journey toward sobriety is a marathon, not a sprint.

“FIND YOUR WHY AND YOU’LL FIND YOUR WAY.”
